5th July 2018
The Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival on 2nd-5th August 2018 will be buzzing with 120,000 visitors making a beeline for some of Britain’s best music and munchies.
But when you’re soaking up the vibes, remember that you’ll find some of the sweetest local treats in the Artisan Zone — our dedicated area of market stalls for Huddersfield businesses.
These premium pitches provide local entrepreneurs who want to showcase their wares with an outstanding opportunity to connect with countless new customers.
And the zone’s making a return thanks to crucial support from founding sponsors like Stafflex — with Marketing Executive Nemi Alexis confirming they’re “thrilled to be supporting the Artisan Zone at this year’s festival. It’s really important that we recognize the smaller businesses in our town and give them a platform to showcase their goods and grow as a business”.
We don’t want to spoil your delicious voyage of discovery by previewing every business participating, but here’s a tantalising taste of what’s on offer:
- Hand-crafted fruit and country wines and liqueurs from Luddenden Valley Wines
- Beautiful bespoke bracelets from Nacksos Jewels
- Squeaky Cheese by Yorkshire Dama Cheese
- Piquant chutneys and pickles from Lily Pickles of Holmfirth
- Magnificent gourmet marshmallows from Malvavisco
The Artisan Zone is the epicentre of our consistent efforts to keep local businesses and community groups at the heart of the festival — sentiments supported by another long-term sponsor, Kirklees College.
Their Head of Sales and Marketing, Lydia Butterworth, has always been a believer:
“Kirklees College is delighted to be supporting the Huddersfield Live team to help them put on another fantastic Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival. We’re always happy to work with other community-minded organisations for the benefit of the town and wider area”.
The Artisan Zone is a seedbed for excellent emerging local businesses to promote themselves to a cracking crowd and spur interest that sustains them throughout the year.
Poppy Stahelin, Director of not-for-profit event organisers Huddersfield Live, is thankful for the support of superb sponsors like Stafflex and Kirklees College — emphasising that both organisations “have a rich history of supporting the community and this perfectly aligns with our aims as festival’s organisers to promote Huddersfield as well as raising the profile of local businesses”.
So please pop in to the Artisan Zone during the festival for a warm welcome from all of our local business legends — and takeaway terrific one-of-a-kind treats to tell all of your friends and family about.
