7th November 2018
The popular festive event will be back for its second year, launching on Friday, 30th November.
Visitors can once again look forward to a unique and festive experience with a truly magical atmosphere, as not-for-profit community group Huddersfield Live will be bringing traditional Scandinavian Sami teepees back to St George’s Square.
The teepees will be open to the public from 11am to 9pm every Wednesday to Sunday between 30th November and New Year’s Eve and boast a roaring fire, cosy seating areas, a licenced bar and freshly-cooked food – plus regular themed events, live music from local bands and duos, crafting workshops and local artisans selling their wares.
Sam Watt, co-director of Huddersfield Live said: “We were absolutely delighted with how popular the Huddersfield Winter Festival was last year, so I am thrilled to announce it’s making a return in the run up to Christmas this year.
“We’ve got lots of events and activities for everyone to get involved in; it’s a perfect way to get the seasonal festivities underway!”. To see a schedule of events, check out Huddersfield Winter Festival’s Facebook page.
Local businesses can also get involved by joining the festival’s Advent Family. Huddersfield Live co-director Poppy Stähelin said: “As a not-for-profit organisation, we’re always on the lookout for local businesses to partner with us in bringing this unique experience to Huddersfield, which also boosts the local economy and brings people into our town.
“We’re offering 24 local companies the chance to become part of the Huddersfield Winter Festival Advent Family. We can offer bespoke sponsorship packages, that can be tailored to their exacting requirements, but could include the use of our teepees for a unique meeting venue and promotion of your company through advertising in St George’s Square and publicity via social media”.
