Foodies looking to tantalise their taste buds from 2nd- 5th August should make sure Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival 2018 tops their menu.
Last year’s festival attracted over 100,000 travelling gourmets to the town centre — tucking into everything from chilli jam to craft beer and soaking in eclectic tastes, sights and sounds from every corner of the globe.
And this year’s lip-smacking event is shaping up to be the tastiest ever, thanks in part to the increased amount of space being dedicated to artisan producers in The Artisan Zone.
The festival has always been held smack-bang in the centre of town at St George’s Square.
That’s two steps from the railway station, putting it within striking distance of anyone in the North who loves food and fancies a day trip with a difference.
Originally launched in collaboration with Kirklees Council, we now operate independently — supported by dynamic Huddersfield businesses like Stafflex, The Star Inn and Syngenta.
More importantly, we’ve received a wellspring of support from the Huddersfield public who have always shown a strong desire to have a mammoth-sized food and drink festival in their town.
We’ve also been lucky to attract ever increasing numbers of valued visitors from further afield, all of which has helped the festival go from strength to strength and become what it is today – one of Yorkshire’s best urban food and drinks festivals!
At Huddersfield Live, we never sit on our laurels — this year’s festival is brimming with over 100 stalls where you’ll get your chops round everything from British classics to international street food, from falafels to fine wine.
There will be familiar faces from Food Festivals’ past like Senor Churro, Boston Shakers and Empire Brewing, as well as a number of new traders including the ones below, who you’ll get to hear more about in the coming weeks;
- The Local Wine Company Ltd
- Little Chilli
- Irvin Confectionary
- Spicy Kitchen Ltd
- Piggie Smalls Hotdog co.
- Twisted Mojito Cocktail & Bar Hire
- Just Jenny’s Farmhouse Ice Cream
- Black dog wine agency
- Smokin Blues
- Yorkshire Hot Dog
- The Bosuns Brewing Co Ltd
- Simply Wood Fired
- Ryan Jepson Cheeses
- The Big Red Oven

And it’s always family-friendly — as well as healthy food, there’s a fun-filled fair-trade zone, music from fab festival buskers and face painting.
We hope we’ve whetted your appetite for this year’s festival…
But that’s just the tip of our farm-fresh iceberg!
